“Founded in 1847 by Lille industrialist François-Philibert Vrau, the Fil au Chinois brand enjoyed enormous popular success in the 19th century, based on the quality of its products and the fashion for orientalism. In 2007, Toulemonde père et fils, founded in 1903, took over the brand and relaunched the machines used to produce it in Lille.”
